One Nation Government Rejected By Aborigines

Any government formed in Queensland with Pauline Hansons One Nation Party will not be recognised by the Aboriginal people, says the Foundation for Aboriginal and Islander Research Action (FAIRA).

It is simply not possible that this overtly racist party can operate in a free democratic society, spokesperson Les Malezer said.

The Australian Constitution should guarantee Aboriginal people equality and protection from any attacks on our indigenous rights.

This protection is a fundamental requirement of any government claiming to rule over our people, says Les Malezer.

The One Nation Party proposes racial inequality and cultural genocide as attempted last Century.

We simply refuse to acquiesce to any government which proposes to extinguish our Land Rights, abolish our elected representative body, cut essential services, and vilify our race.

Government by the One Nation Party, whose main objective is to destroy the legal rights of Aboriginal people, is a blight on our freedom and an infringement of our civil and political rights.

The Foundation has already received many calls from representatives in the Aboriginal community in Queensland calling for determined action against any One Nation government. says Les Malezer.

Aboriginal leaders in Queensland intend to meet to discuss actions for resisting government consisting of the One Nation Party.

Details of the planned meetings and the possible strategies are not being released.
