Establishing Rules/Constitutions for Organisations
This month National Solicitor for the National Aboriginal & Islander Legal Secretariat Services (NAILSS), Geoffrey Atkinson (LL.B), takes a look at "a very basic outline of what needs to be considered when setting up organisations". LRQ would like to remind readers to always obtain proper legal advice as early as possible in the drafting and creation of constitutions or rules for a new organisation.

Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies catalogue goes world-wide
The Acting Chairperson of the Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies, Mr Mick Dodson, recently launched Mura, the catalogue of print and archival materials on the World Wide Web. The catalogue comprises details of over 180 pictorial collections, 4,400 films and videos, over 100 recorded sound collections, 4,700 manuscripts, 1,400 rare books, 21,000 books, 7,600 serial analytics, 2,000 language items and over 12,000 pamphlets.
