To conduct, in an ethical manner, legitimate research into any aspect of the life, culture, heritage, needs and aspirations of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Queensland. To report on this research to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and, as appropriate, government, churches and interested members of the general public. To inquire into matters of concern to the corporation. To provide comment and proposals on legislation which has specific application to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To consider and respond to the findings of relevant official inquiries as they relate to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. To respond appropriately to an inquiry or a request for assistance by any group of Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders. To advise on, and, as appropriate, pursue, any matter of dispute, right, title or interest which relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals or peoples.
